A delicious Christmas at the Roch

Our chef Rémy Bérerd offers you an exceptional Christmas menu from the 19th until the 30th of December 2017. The menu is an exciting inventory of seasonal delights created by our gifted chef to tempt gourmands and gourmets.

A wish for good things at Christmas

Winter has scarcely begun when the first Christmas bells start to chime. Laughing grandfathers dressed in red suits and obligatory white beards take their places in the store windows and grottos. Garlands illuminate the streets and our fingers can already imagine grazing beautifully wrapped packages. As for our taste buds, they feel an irresistible craving for sweetness. So, here we go! Our chef's divine menu is a heady blend of tradition and originality, luxury and simplicity. And the Yule log? Get ready for a surprise!

You choose

And since we don't keep secrets from you, we'll reveal some of the highlights of this outstanding menu. Let's talk nibbles first -  choose sea urchins in taramasalata with home-made blinis and gin fizz or fresh oysters. Appetisers are a serious business and you can sample delicious snails braised with red wine, warm lobster with herbs, or traditional onion soup – made with Cevennes onions, of course! Follow your first course with the famous hare à la Royale, a great classic revisited by our Chef Remy! Or, you may prefer roast line-caught turbot with cardamom emulsion or stuffed Challans poultry with a vin jaune and morel strew.

And now for dessert

The choice between rich Nyangbo dark chocolate soufflé or the amazing Roch Hotel Christmas log is a difficult one.  For this year, our log is a bone made of delicate gingerbread. It’s a nod to our "pet friendly" status but also a reference to our Patron Saint: Saint Roch is always represented accompanied by his dog and they are the origin of the proverb - "Like Saint Roch and his dog" – a phrase that's often used to describe two inseparable people.  But do book quickly, it's a limited edition!
