Saut Hermès at the Grand Palais

On the 17th, 18th and 19th of March, the 8th edition of the Saut Hermès will take place beneath the beautiful nave of the Grand Palais. The prestigious international show jumping competition brings together the finest horses and the best riders in an elegant and emotional celebration.

In tribute to the founder

Today, Maison Hermès is a leading luxury brand with an international reputation. It began its epic journey in 1827, when founder Thierry Hermès began manufacturing his saddles and harnesses near the Madeleine. His sons and grandsons took over in time and diversified the range with casaques, boots, leather luggage and sports clothes before their descendants brought in watchmaking, perfumery and ready-to-wear. A symbol of quality, know-how and perfection, the brand’s leather work recalls the "equestrian" origins of the brand, something that’s also celebrated during the Saut Hermès.

An emotional and beautiful event

Whether one is a horse lover or not, one is sure to be moved by the beauty of this competition. As the horse rushes for a series of jumps, you’ll admire his stride, hold your breath in anticipation and sigh with relief when his hooves clear the jump. Encourage him when he goes back to the next obstacle and applaud when he completes the course.  It’s impossible not to feel that bond of trust between horse and rider, to be dazzled by their restrained tension and mastery, whether or not you have a favourite. So much elegance, so much class, a visit to the Grand Palais is essential on at least one of the event’s three days.
