For the Roch Hotel & Spa team, caring is not just a concept. That's why we chose to establish a partnership with Etoiles et Solidaires (Stars and Solidarity), an association dedicated to sharing gastronomy and nutrition knowledge with the elderly and which we had the pleasure of welcoming to the Roch for their first meeting.
Étoilés et Solidaires; a commitment to caring
The Etoiles et Solidaires association was born from the desire to reinforce our social bonds with the elderly. And what better way to do so than through gastronomy? This led to the association’s first actions, which involved going to meet isolated elderly and socially vulnerable people and organising culinary workshops to show them how to make tasty, healthy and nutritious meals while sharing conversation and conviviality. Thanks to the commitment of more and more members of the catering and hospitality industry, Etoiles et Solidaires is now organising a new event.
A very special June 24th
The association’s Grande Première will take place on June 24th, 2019 at the Institut Culinaire de Paris. Étoiles et Solidaires has planned a day combining fun and education that will involve 30 isolated elderly people guided by four leading chefs; William Ledeuil, Christophe Raoux, Camille Grace, and Julien Dumas. The aim of the event is to show how to make a complete meal, starter, main course and dessert. All the ingredients are in place for a memorable day.
The professional violinist Claire Bucelle is deeply committed to this event. In collaboration with the team of chefs, she will provide the elderly ‘chefs for a day’ with musical entertainment to accompany the tasting of the dishes they make. David Ken, renowned portraitist and author of the LOL Project, will capture the joy of the ‘senior chefs’ for the purposes of an upcoming photographic exhibition intended to help change the way that society regards aging.
